Richard Troxell — Tenor

American Richard Troxell’s beautiful lyric tenor voice has been thrilling audiences in leading roles in opera houses and on concert stages around the world, from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre (with New York’s Metropolitan Opera) across Europe all the way to the Sydney Opera House. His vocal artistry and powerful stage presence set him apart, and his ability to connect with audiences have made him a favorite. Highlights of the past two seasons include performing Don José in Italy, Beijing and Sydney, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Hamilton, and his first Des Grieux in Massenet’s Manon with Calgary Opera. Concert engagements of note include Handel’s Messiah with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with the Detroit Symphony, and Mendelsshon’s Walpurgisnacht with the Denver Symphony. Having started his career as an actor in musical theatre, Richard loves returning home to the Broadway and Pops standards, and his signature act From Puccini to Porter, features highlights from Madame Butterfly to Cole Porter.
